Frame by Frame 8mm & 16mm Film Transfer

At Feldman's Photography we transfer your old 8mm and 16mm movie film to a DVD the proper way. We begin by
cleaning your old film and then we scan each individual frame of film one-by-one. Our experts then manually color correct and adjust exposure for each scene at no extra charge.

Sixty percent of our clients have us convert thier home movies directly to a DVD that will immediatly play in a home DVD player. Some customers have us add music to their silent 8mm and 16mm movie film. Over 1000 feet of movie film will fit on one DVD.

Around 40% of our clients have us digitize their home movies to an uncompressed AVI or MOV movie format file on a hard drive for future editing at home. Some clients do both a DVD for immediate enjoyment and a data filled hard drive for removing bad footage, editing scenes, adding titles and credits and scene transistions.

Movie Film Transfer Services Include:

  • Film cleaning and lubrication

  • Frame By Frame Film Transfer

  • Free Color Correction

  • Custom Chapter Titles and a DVD Menu Included

  • Movie Formats Available for you to edit at home

  • Work is always performed locally by professionals

Warning:

Those old eight and sixteen millimeter movies become brittle and inflexible due to old age and should not be put in a typical movie projector. To do so would cause the film to either break or to get caught in the movie projector cogs and fold like an accordion.

Most film labs project the old movies onto a rear projection screen and use a digital camera to record the projected image. This process creates hot spots, flickers and vignetting on the finished product. We take the extra time to first clean the film (by hand if necessary), then we digitize each frame (each second of a movie has 30 frames) using a very expensive Telecine digital film recorder which uses LED bulbs to evenly illuminate each frame from corner to corner. The digital duplication process uses Sony Broadcast quality cameras allowing us to lighten, darken and often color correct faded 8mm, Super 8mm and 16mm film. The digital files are then converted to a DVD file format using patented "Memory3" Technology which is the highest quality available in the industry. The last thing we do is add copy free music to your old movies to give them more interest when viewing.
