Types of Transparency Films

Slide Film Sizes


35mm slide

The most widely used format for slides. Mounted in 2x2" cardboard or plastic mounts. Film Types include Kodachrome, Ektachrome, and others.

35mm half

Mounted in 2x2" cardboard or plastic mounts, but the image is half the size of 35mm.

110 Transparency

110 slides in 2x2" cardboard or plastic mounts.

126 transparency film

126 slides mounted in a 2x2" cardboard or plastic mounts. The film size is square, not rectangular like 35mm.

127 Super Size Slides

127mm Superslides were mounted in 2x2" cardboard or plastic mounts. The film size is approximately 1.5x1.5".

35mm film strip

35mm transparency strips containing 2 or more frames.

disc Negative

The fifteen 11mmx8mm images are arranged around the outside of the disc.

stereo slides

3D Stereo Slides contain duplicate images and can be mouned in paper, glass or steel mounts.

medium format transparency

Medium Format Film sizes range from 6x4cm to 6x9cm (2.4x1.6 up to 2.4x3.5).

large format film

Large Format Film sizes range from 4 x 5 inches all the way up to 8x10 inches.
